Understanding the "Service Display" page in the SEM Development Interface


Service Display Page

This section describes the features available to the SEM Developer for editing the 'Service Display' page in a display contained in a SEM library.



Checkbox: Make available as a Service Display

Selecting this checkbox allows the display to be run as a 'Service Display' in a background Windows process. When it runs in this mode it runs as a Windows Service under a Windows user account and a SEM user account that are selectable at the time the service is started. The frequency it refreshes and the time of day it refreshes are tailorable when the Service is started. Filters and Alarms can be set on the display when it runs as a Service.

To start the service use the SEM menu option: "Tools" > "Service Displays".

This checkbox allows the display to be run in parrallel in different Windows Services.
